Sweet Puff Pastry Sausages

The perfect sweet puff pastry sausages recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 Pk Puff pastry slices – 10pcs
  • 400 gr Amamdelspijs – marzipan paste with almonds
  • 40 g Cocktail cherries – children should also eat raisins as an alternative
  • 40 g Citronat (Succade)
  • 40 g Orange Council
  • 1 cl Coffee Liqueur
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  1. Crumble the almond spices and place in a bowl. Chop the lemon peel, raisins and orangate and add to the bowl just like the coffee liqueur. Open the egg and add half of it to the shell, mix everything together well.
  2. Portion the well-mixed Amandelspijsmasse into 10 equal parts and shape into sausages. This works best if you slightly moisten the hand and work surface. Cut the puff pastry into 10 equal pieces and place the sausages on top. Brush the edges of the dough with part of the remaining beaten egg, do not consume all of the egg. Then roll up the dough and fold in the ends well.
  3. Then spread the leftover EGG on the puff pastry sausages and sprinkle the sugar on top. Now place the whole thing on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and place in the oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 35-40 minutes. The result of this can be seen on my photos, the degree of browning is up to you.
  4. It is a delicious affair that is very popular here in the Netherlands and it does not matter whether it is warm or cold or with a delicious vanilla sauce. Once again I wish you a lot of fun baking and I can assure you that it will not only taste good if you have a sweet tooth.
  5. It can be served as a dessert or just with coffee!
