Sweet semolina and pear casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 75 g margarine
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • some lemon zest
  • 500 g quark
  • 75 g semolina
  • 5 tbsp milk
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 can pear(s), approx. 800 g
  • 20 g butter
  • 3 tsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Drain the pears. Whisk the margarine with the sugar, egg yolk, and lemon zest until fluffy. Add the quark, semolina, and milk. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold in. Pour half of the batter into a baking dish and top with the pears, then place the other half on top. Bake at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for 45 minutes. Sprinkle the sugar on top 15 minutes before the end of the baking time.
