Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 200 g semolina (soft wheat)
- 800 ml milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 5 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 pinch of salt
- Fat for the mold
- almond(s) (almond flakes) if required
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Heat the milk with a pinch of salt and the butter. Then add the semolina and cook, stirring constantly, until thick. Separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites until stiff and set aside. Beat the egg yolks with the sugar and vanilla sugar until frothy and add the cooled semolina. Finally, fold in the egg whites and pour the mixture into a greased baking dish (you can top with flaked almonds if you like). Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for half an hour, until the casserole is golden brown. Note: Heat and time may vary depending on the oven.
