delicious, filling, varied and low in calories
Bring the apple juice and water to a boil in a saucepan with the cocoa powder, cloves, and star anise. Add the oats and bring to a boil while stirring. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes, until the soup is creamy but not thick. Season to taste with cinnamon, nutmeg, and honey. Variations: Replace the apple juice with pear juice and the cocoa with finely grated dark chocolate (at least 70%). Instead of the juice, you can also use milk or water and boil with freshly grated apple, plums, or pears. If you want to save calories, you can use sweetener instead of honey. However, I would add this while cooking rather than later.
