Tangy salad dressing

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds, hulled
  • 1 tsp vinegar essence
  • 1 tsp cane sugar
  • 2 tbsp apple juice
  • 3 tbsp oil (sunflower oil)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp water or sour cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Toast the sunflower seeds and sesame seeds in a pan over medium-high heat. Stir until the sesame seeds begin to crackle and pop. Let cool. Whisk the remaining ingredients together in a bowl and season to taste. Stir in the seeds just before serving, then pour the sauce over the salad to keep the seeds nice and crispy. Note: I only use organic products. This gives it a particularly nutty flavor.
