Tartar breads

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 300 g minced beef (tartar)
  • 500 g brown bread, even older
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 shallot(s), finely chopped
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Combine all ingredients with the tartar and spread it on the halved slices of brown bread. Fry in a pan, tartar-side down (do not turn over), over medium heat until the underside is nice and crispy. This is a great way to use up leftovers, as we either have a lot of bread left over or nothing at all. The older the bread, the better it tastes (it absorbs the liquid better). You can try it raw, cold, or as a cheaper version with ground meat (mixed). The quantities may vary slightly.
