Tea against fever: These varieties help

Fever is a common symptom of a cold or flu and is a sign that the immune system is active. A body temperature of 38 degrees in adults and 38.5 degrees in children is considered fever. If the fever persists or increases rapidly, a doctor should be consulted immediately. For the time being, however, the following types of tea, which are said to have an antipyretic effect, can help:

  • If the fever is from a cold, ginger tea can be drunk. The root has a sweat-forming and blood circulation-promoting effect and is also anti-inflammatory. Before drinking the tea, you should let it steep for ten minutes.
  • Rosehip tea also lowers the body temperature. The contained vitamin C and the minerals ensure a slightly sour taste. Let the tea steep for seven minutes.
  • If you have a fever, you should drink one to three cups of chamomile tea a day. The chamomile blossoms have an antibacterial and calming effect.
  • Willow bark tea helps with fever and even headaches. The tea is said to have a quick effect. Drink three cups daily. However, let the tea steep for ten minutes before consuming it.
  • Linden blossom tea can also be used for fever. In addition, the tea is also effective for coughs and inflammation of the mucous membranes. Before you enjoy the tea, you should let it steep for seven minutes.

These tea blends help with fever

You can easily prepare special tea blends yourself and consume them if you have a fever. You can put together the mixtures yourself in advance and pour them on freshly depending on use.

  1. Take 20 grams each of willow bark, pansy and bitter clover. Pour hot water over a tablespoon of the mixture and drink two to three cups daily.
  2. Another antipyretic tea is made from five parts rosehip, five parts linden blossom, four parts chamomile and sage, and four parts elderflower. Take four teaspoons of the mixture and pour half a liter of boiling water over it. Let the tea steep for 15 minutes and then drain the tea. You can consume up to five cups of it daily.
