Thai Style Prawns with Garlic
The perfect thai style prawns with garlic recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
For marinating:
- 6 medium sized Cloves of garlic, fresh
- 30 g Unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp Fish sauce, light colored, (e.g. kecap ikan “King Lobster”)
- 1 tbsp Orange juice
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1 tbsp Spring roll sauce ala Sanur Beach, (see attachment)
- 1 pinch Pepper, black, fresh from the mill
To garnish:
- 1 medium sized Tomato
- 1 small Cucumber
- 2 tsp Rice vinegar, black
- 1 tsp Salt
- 5 Discs Carrot
- Dill sprigs, fresh
- Thaw the prawns and pat dry. Mix the ingredients for the marinade and marinate the prawns for 10 minutes and drain well. Prepare a serving platter with the ingredients for garnish.
- Cut the garlic into small cubes. Heat the butter and olive oil in a pan and fry the garlic until light yellow. Add the prawns and fry with the lid on for about 2 minutes until they are pink. Add 2 tablespoons of the marinade to the onions and cook for 1 minute. Place the prawns on the serving dish and drizzle the sauce over everything. Serve as a starter or side dish.
