It is not advisable to consume raspberries in large quantities for those who are allergic to other berries. Dietitian Olga Korablyova told us what raspberries are contraindicated for and whether those who are losing weight should eat them.
“An adult can eat up to 400 grams of raspberries a day without harm to health. However, it is better to give up raspberries in case of exacerbation of gastrointestinal diseases – gastritis and ulcers – or kidney problems: the berry can overload them because it is diuretic,” said Olga Korablyova.
According to the doctor, raspberries are a strong allergen: it is not recommended to eat them in large quantities for those who are allergic to other berries, such as strawberries.
In addition, according to the nutritionist, raspberries increase appetite. “If you decide to reduce the calorie content of your daily diet, temporarily exclude the berry from your diet, or eat raspberries with yogurt or soft cheese,” the nutritionist advised.
