Allergies to seasonal fruits do not occur by themselves. At first, a reaction to the flowering of plants and grasses occurs. With the arrival of spring and summer comes the season of seasonal fruits, but not everyone will benefit from them. Nutritionist and nutritionist Inna Kononenko said that people prone to allergies should limit their consumption.

According to the doctor, allergies to seasonal fruits usually do not occur on their own. At first, a reaction to the flowering of plants and grasses occurs, and only after that, a cross-allergy to fruit develops. If a person has any allergic manifestations of birch, alder, or hazel blossoms, it is recommended to exclude all stone fruits from the diet – apples, peaches, apricots, pears, as well as all those belonging to the pink family – strawberries, raspberries, cherries.

People who are allergic to cereal grasses should avoid eating strawberries and strawberries, and in case of a reaction to the flowering of weeds such as ragweed, wormwood, quinoa, melons, and watermelons should be excluded from the diet.

“Of all stone fruits, peaches are the most allergenic. They contain a very large amount of allergenic protein. And its maximum content is in the peel – both in yellow and red fruits. Therefore, if you see an allergic reaction to peaches, then it is better to exclude all stone fruits and everything that belongs to the pink family from the diet. They have similar proteins, they can cause cross-allergies and thus aggravate an allergy to peaches and lead to an allergy to stone fruits,” the nutritionist warned.

How allergies manifest themselves

The consequences of an allergy to seasonal fruits can be different. For example, nasal congestion, sneezing, watery eyes, and itchy eyes. More serious complications are inflammation and swelling in the lungs and trachea, bronchitis, and bronchial asthma. Anaphylactic shock can also be a manifestation of allergy.

“Allergies can be very dangerous. Especially if it manifests itself in anaphylactic shock. In the case of untimely medical care, anaphylactic shock can be fatal. Quinquefoil edema may develop, in which help is needed within a short time, otherwise, the person may die. Be attentive to your health and take care of yourself,” Kononenko summarized.
