The Doctor Told Which Peaches Should Never be Bought

The doctor does not recommend buying peaches that are packed in plastic bags. Nutritionist Olga Korablyova told us what to look for when buying peaches in a supermarket or market.

According to her, if the flavor of a peach is weak, then the fruit is likely to be sour. But sweet peaches have a pronounced smell.

“The greenish color of the peel means that the fruit was picked too early: it will not ripen to the right degree at home. A good peach should be dry, clean, and firm, without brown spots: they indicate that the fruit has already begun to deteriorate. You shouldn’t buy crumpled, wet, or wrinkled peaches – they won’t last long,” the nutritionist warned.

Hard peaches are most likely sour: the peel should give way to finger pressure.

The doctor also advises against buying peaches that are packed in plastic bags – the fruit in them spoils quickly: they need air. Likewise, you should not take peaches if they are sold in places not suitable for trade or near highways.
