Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 300 g bread(s) (black bread), grated
  • 100 g sugar
  • 300 g applesauce
  • 2 cl rum
  • ½ liter sweet cream
  • 200 g dark chocolate, finely grated
  • 100 g jam (raspberry)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

East Frisian dessert

Mix the grated brown bread with the sugar. Stir in the applesauce and rum. Whip the cream until stiff peaks form and fold in the grated chocolate. Then layer the mixture into a bowl. First, add the brown bread mixture, then the applesauce, and then another layer of brown bread. Finally, add the chocolate cream and a dollop of raspberry jam. Tip: Often, sugar-sweetened quark is used instead of cream.
