Thick Plum Cake
The perfect thick plum cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Yeast dough
- 2 kg Thick plums
- 500 g Flour
- 75 g Sugar
- 250 ml Milk
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 dice Yeast fresh
- 75 g Butter
- 1 piece Egg
Sprinkles
- 250 g Flour
- 125 g Sugar
- 175 g Soft butter
- Yeast dough: For the yeast dough, sieve the flour with a pinch of salt into a bowl.
- Gently heat the milk with the butter and sugar and dissolve the butter in it. Then add the yeast and let it dissolve.
- Add the milk, butter, sugar, yeast mixture and egg to the flour and knead all ingredients to a smooth dough. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
- Streusel: Knead 250 grams of flour, 125 grams of sugar and 175 grams of softened butter into sprinkles.
- Wash, dry, stone and halve the plums.
- Finish: Brush a baking sheet with butter. Knead the yeast dough well again and roll it out in the baking sheet.
- Place the plums on the dough and sprinkle the crumble on top.
- Bake the cake in the preheated electric oven at 200 degrees top / bottom heat in the middle shelf for about 35 minutes.
