Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 kg schnitzel meat, cut into strips
- 2 onions, in rings
- 1 small can of beans
- 1 small zucchini
- 1 can of mushrooms
- 1 jar of letcho (alternatively 1 jar of tomato peppers and half a tube of tomato paste)
- 1 bottle of Hungarian-style paprika sauce
- 2 cups of cream
- n. B. Thyme, dried
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes
Layer the meat, seasoned to taste, with the vegetables (the last layer should be meat). Mix the paprika sauce with the cream and a little thyme, pour over the meat, and sprinkle with thyme. Let it marinate overnight. Bake in the oven at 180°C for about 1.5 hours. You may be able to shorten the cooking time by using the microwave. Tip: For a reduced-fat version, replace one cup of cream with milk. Serve with baguette or rice.
