Fight coughs with nature

Harvest and rinse the thyme. While still dripping wet, layer it with the sugar in a large, sealable jar. Layer thyme, then sugar, and so on, and finally add a layer of sugar. You can also add sage leaves to the mixture. Leave in the sun for three weeks. In good weather, two weeks might be enough. Press through a fine sieve and boil in a saucepan with the citric acid for 5 minutes. Immediately pour into hot, rinsed bottles. Store in the refrigerator!
