Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 400 g feta cheese
  • 200 g Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 5 g chili pepper(s), fresh
  • ½ tsp chili flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Greek spicy cheesecream

Crumble the feta cheese with your fingers and place it in a large bowl. Then mix in the yogurt and lemon with a fork. Press the mixture against the sides of the bowl repeatedly to ensure it is nice and creamy and there are no lumps. Wash the chili pepper and cut it into fine rings. Don’t remove the seeds! This will keep it nice and spicy. Peel the garlic cloves and roughly chop them. Place the olive oil, garlic, a pinch of pepper, chili flakes, and chili slices in a tall bowl and blend until finely ground with a hand blender until you have a chili oil. Add the chili oil to the bowl with the feta-yogurt mixture and mix well. Chill the tirokafteri until ready to serve. Garnish with some chopped parsley and chilies. Black Kalamata olives also make an excellent garnish. Serve this delicious feta dip with toasted bread or pita. We prefer our tirokafteri with fresh, lukewarm pita bread.
