To Freeze or Not: How Long Does Cauliflower Keep?

Spread the love

You can recognize fresh cauliflower by its plump white florets and light, pleasant scent. Cauliflower is not a typically stored vegetable. You can keep cauliflower in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator for four to five days, or in a cling bag with air holes for up to ten days. Please note that you should not store the cauliflower together with fruit or fruit vegetables that give off ethylene, such as tomatoes or apples. The flower turns yellow and the leaves separate from the stalk.

If you want to store the cabbage for a long time, you can easily freeze it. Pluck the florets from the washed cauliflower and blanch them before they end up in the freezer. If you want to use the cauliflower florets later, put them directly into the boiling water. Thawed cauliflower will lose its texture and become mushy.
