Toast without Hawaii

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 slices of toast
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 4 slices of salmon ham
  • 4 slices of Gouda
  • 4 eggs
  • Salt
  • Pepper, mixed, from the mill

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

But with egg

Preheat the oven to 230°C fan/convection oven. Toast the slices of bread, spread with butter, and top each with a slice of smoked ham and Gouda cheese. Bake the slices on a baking sheet lined with baking paper in the preheated oven until the cheese begins to melt. Then remove them from the oven, crack an egg over each slice, and return them to the oven for about 2 minutes, until the egg whites are set. Season with salt and freshly ground pepper. Smoked salmon also works well instead of smoked ham and Gouda cheese. This snack is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or with a mixed salad for a light dinner.
