Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g wheat flour, type 550
  • 500 g wheat flour, type 1050
  • 280 g tomato sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder, Hungarian
  • some honey
  • 1 tbsp basil, finely chopped
  • 25 g yeast, fresh
  • 4 g baking malt
  • 1 some pizza seasoning

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

Fruity rolls, baked with tomato sauce instead of water

Mix the yeast with 1 teaspoon of the flour in ½ cup of lukewarm water and dissolve in about ½ hour. Make a tomato sauce from passata, salt, pepper, Hungarian paprika, a little honey, and basil. Bring to a boil briefly and let cool to lukewarm, then puree (you can also use ready-made tomato sauce or your own recipe). Mix both flours with the yeast water, tomato sauce, and malt and knead into a dough. Let rise twice for 20 minutes. Before the second rise, shape the rolls and cover with a kitchen towel. Then bake at 220 degrees Celsius for about 25 minutes. Brush with water before placing in the oven and sprinkle with some pizza seasoning. Steam the dough first.
