Tomato sauce with cream, bacon and cherry tomatoes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g bacon, diced
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 800 g cherry tomatoes, alternatively normal tomatoes
  • 400 ml cream
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • salt and pepper
  • some basil, fresh
  • olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Peel and finely chop the onion. Dice the bacon. Briefly fry the onions and bacon in a little olive oil. Meanwhile, halve the cherry tomatoes or cut the tomatoes into small pieces. Add them to the pan and sauté briefly. Then add the cream and let everything simmer for a moment until the tomatoes break down slightly. Add 1-2 tablespoons of tomato paste, if desired. Finally, season with salt and pepper and some fresh basil, and add other spices if desired. This sauce is best served with spaghetti.
