Tomato Sauce with Fresh and Dried Tomatoes

The perfect tomato sauce with fresh and dried tomatoes recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1,5 kg Tomatoes
  • 2 piece Onions
  • 5 piece Garlic cloves
  • 4 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 6 tbsp Dried tomatoes
  • 1 pinch Sugar
  • Pepper
  • Salt
  • 0,5 tbsp Herbal mixture Italian
  • 1 shot White wine
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil
  1. Roughly dice fresh and sun-dried tomatoes, cut out the stems. Dice the onions and garlic.
  1. 2 Heat tablespoons in the pan, fry the onion cubes until translucent, add the garlic just before the end and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
  1. Add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, white wine, sugar, salt, pepper, herbs. Bring to the boil briefly and then simmer on a low flame for about 2 hours until the liquid has evaporated and the sauce is creamy.
  1. Now add a tablespoon of olive oil and puree the whole thing.
  1. The sauce goes well with pasta or as a pizza sauce. In mason jars or frozen, it lasts for weeks and can be used quickly when needed. Thanks to dried tomatoes it tastes very aromatic and better than any ready-made sauce.
