Tomato Sauce Made from Fresh Tomatoes
The perfect tomato sauce made from fresh tomatoes recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 kg Fresh San Marzano tomatoes
- 3 Shallots, cut gorb
- 3 Coarsely chopped garlic cloves
- 1 tsp Dried thyme
- 0,5 tsp Allspice grains
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- 1 tbsp Tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 branch Rosemary
- 2 branch Oregano
- Salt
- Black pepper from the mill
- Olive oil
- Cut the tomatoes into large pieces. Heat some olive oil in a saucepan and fry the garlic, shallots, cinnamon stick, thyme and allspice in it. Then add the tomato paste and sugar and roast for a few minutes.
- Now add the coarsely chopped tomatoes, the rosemary and oregano and simmer until sufficient liquid has formed, now the lid on the saucepan and simmer over medium heat for about 1 hour.
- Then pull the pot off the stove and take out the cinnamon stick and the herb sprigs and puree everything with the magic wand. Now pass the mixture through a sieve and pour the liquid back into the saucepan and let the liquid simmer over medium heat until it has the desired consistency.
- Now season with salt and pepper and possibly with sugar. Finished. We ate this sauce with homemade spaghetti.

- A sauce made from fresh San Marzano tomatoes is the ultimate for me. There are no better tomatoes for a tomato sauce. I almost exclusively use the San Marzano canned tomatoes in the kitchen.,
- This sauce is also great for stocking up. Simply fill the hot liquid into twist-off glasses, close and good. Now you always have a good sauce base for tomato sauces of all kinds.
