Tomatoes stewed grandma's way

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g tomatoes, – 750 g medium-sized firm
  • 40 g butter or margarine
  • some salt
  • 1 tbsp flat-leaf parsley, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Wash the tomatoes, wipe them with a cloth, and cut a cross at the base of the blossoms. Melt the fat in a shallow pan. Place the tomatoes side by side in the hot fat, sprinkle with salt, and simmer over low heat for about 15 minutes until tender. Sprinkle with parsley before serving.
