Tortellini a la Panna

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g tortellini, from the refrigerated section
  • 250 g ham, cooked
  • 4 cups of sweet cream
  • 250 g processed cheese (Emmental or herb)
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 clove(s) garlic, large
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • pepper
  • nutmeg
  • Sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cut the ham slices into small squares and fry in the oil. Finely dice the onion, add it, and sauté until translucent. Crush the garlic clove, pour in the cream, add the processed cheese, and let it simmer. Season the sauce with pepper and nutmeg, and add sugar to taste. Heat the tortellini according to the package instructions, add it to the sauce, and simmer for another 2-3 minutes. Serve best on warmed plates. Admittedly, it’s quite fatty, but it tastes best this way. If you’re watching your weight, you can also combine condensed milk (10%) with light cheese. You may need to thicken it a bit more. Please note: As the sauce cools, it will thicken, so don’t add too much cheese or over-thicken it. If it’s too thick, thin it with a little milk.
