Tortilla Casserole
The perfect tortilla casserole recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 500 gr Chicken breast
- 3 tsp Gyros spice
- 2 tbsp Sunflower oil
- 3 Paprika [red, yellow, green]
- 1 bunch Spring onion
- 5 Tomatoes
- 500 ml Mild yogurt
- 3 tbsp Dried parsley / chives mixture
- 6 Wheat Trotillas / Wraps
- 200 gr Medium-Aged grated Gouda
- 3 Eggs
- Chop the chicken breast into small pieces, mix 1 tablespoon of oil and the gyros spice with the meat.
- Preheat the oven
- Cut the paprika into pieces and the onion into slices. Dice 1 tomato and cut the other tomatoes into slightly thicker slices.
- Heat the oil in a pan and fry the meat 3/4 of the way through and take it out again.
- Sauté the peppers in the meat – sautéing oil for about 4 minutes and then sauté the onion for the same length of time. Then add the meat and the tomato cubes and season with salt and pepper.
- Mix the yoghurt, eggs and herbs, season with salt and pepper for the topping.
- Take a round casserole dish, pour some icing on the base, then a tortilla flatbread and on top of it some of the meat and vegetable mixture. Then alternately make flatbread, topping and meat / vegetable mixture on it. Depending on the size of the baking dish, wheat tortillas or wraps are ideal.
- As the very last then a flat cake on top, then put the tomato slices on top and sprinkle the whole with cheese.
- In the oven for about 45 minutes. leave in at 180 ° hot air, cover half the time so that the cheese does not get too dark
