Tri-Color Marble Cake
The perfect tri-color marble cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
For the basic dough
- 200 g Soft butter
- 180 g Sugar
- 1 packet Bourbon vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
- 5 Pc. Eggs M
- 350 g Flour
- 1 packet Baking powder
For the dough variations
- 1 Pc. Organic orange
- 50 g Whole milk chocolate grated
- 2 tbsp Milk
- 50 g Raspberry fruit spread from the refrigerated shelf
- 1 bag Raspberry jelly for 500 ml of liquid
For the casting
- 150 g Powdered sugar
- Lemon juice or orange juice
- Mix the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt until frothy. Gradually stir in the eggs. Mix flour with baking powder and stir into the butter mixture. Divide the dough into 3 portions.
- 2nd portion 1: Wash the orange with hot water and rub off 1 teaspoon of the zest. Squeeze the fruit. Stir the zest and 2 tablespoons of juice into the batter.
- 3rd portion 2: stir in cocoa powder, grated chocolate and milk.
- 4th serving 3: stir in jelly powder and fruit spread.
- In a loaf pan (25 x 11) first spread the red, then the yellow and finally the brown dough. Bake at 180 degrees for 60 minutes. Let the cake cool down a bit and turn it out of the tin. Mix the powdered sugar with the lemon or orange juice and spread on the cake.
- My glaze takes a bit of getting used to because I tried to spice up the glaze with food coloring. Unfortunately I did not read the instructions for “G’scheitheimer” and so my cast was a mixture of yellow and green. Didn’t harm the taste though.
