tuna sandwich

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 can tuna, in its own juice
  • 5 eggs, hard-boiled, finely diced
  • 5 gherkins, finely diced
  • 1 medium-sized onion(s), finely diced
  • 250 g mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 pack of toast bread (sandwich)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 4 hours; Total time approx. 4 hours 20 minutes

Mix the tuna, eggs, cucumber, and onions in a large bowl. Mix in the mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper thoroughly. Let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or longer if preferred. American-style sandwich toast works best. Toasted or not depends on your taste. Spread the slices of bread thickly with the tuna salad, place a second slice on top, and cut it diagonally. Tip: If you need to prepare the sandwiches well in advance, for example, for a party, you can place a lettuce leaf on top of the slices to prevent them from getting soggy.
