Turkey strips with carambola

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 100 g shallot(s)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 500 g turkey breast fillet(s)
  • 2 carambola(s) (180 g each)
  • 1 ½ tbsp curry
  • 1 ½ tbsp flour
  • 250 ml vegetable stock
  • 125 ml whipped cream
  • Salt and pepper from the mill

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel the shallots and halve or quarter them, depending on their size, and sauté in hot oil until translucent. Cut the turkey into thin strips. Wash the star fruit. Cut one star fruit in half, remove the seeds from the remaining star fruit, and cut into small pieces. Add the meat to the sautéed shallots and fry. Sprinkle with flour and curry powder, mix well, and sauté. Then deglaze with stock and cream. Braise the minced meat for about 8-10 minutes. Finally, heat the small pieces of star fruit in the sauce. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Garnish with star fruit pieces when serving. Serve with rice, leaf salad, or exotic fruit salad.
