- 100 g butter, soft
- 100 g powdered sugar
- 100 g cream cheese (preferably Philadelphia)
- 1 tsp vanilla paste (alternatively 1 vanilla pod)

Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting for cupcakes – not too buttery, not too sweet
Briefly beat the softened butter with a hand mixer until creamy, then stir in the powdered sugar. Then, whisk together the cream cheese and vanilla paste until smooth. This makes enough for about 12 cupcakes. The vanilla paste gives the frosting a rich vanilla flavor, even more so than vanilla extract or sugar. Alternatively, you can use a vanilla bean.
