Vanilla croissants Norwegian style

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g flour
  • 210 g butter
  • 75 g sugar
  • 100 g hazelnuts, ground
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 50 g vanilla sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Family recipe for at least 120 years

Combine flour, butter, sugar, and ground hazelnuts and knead. Divide into 4 pieces and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Remove the portion you want to use and shape it into a thinner roll. Cut off pieces and shape into croissants. Make them not too thin, so they don’t break during baking or in the powdered sugar. Bake on baking paper at medium heat (approx. 150°C) until light golden. Then carefully transfer to a large bowl or dish and roll in the powdered sugar/vanilla sugar mixture. Then transfer to a storage container and sieve over plenty of powdered sugar/vanilla sugar.
