vanilla sugar

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 vanilla pods (Bourbon vanilla)
  • 250 g powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

The very best – with Bourbon vanilla. Here, the whole pods are used.

With my vanilla sugar, I don’t scrape out the pod; I use the whole pod instead. The finished vanilla sugar is very flavorful. Cut the vanilla pods into 5 cm pieces. Then put a few spoonfuls of powdered sugar and the vanilla pieces into a coffee grinder. Grind vigorously until only tiny particles of the vanilla pod remain. Pour the remaining powdered sugar into a sealable jar, then add the ground mixture from the coffee grinder, mix well, and you’re done. No need to steep; it can be used immediately.
