Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g quark (low-fat quark)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp butter, softened
  • Flour for the work surface
  • 2 liters of water, lightly salted
  • 100 g crème fraîche
  • sugar and cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Knead the quark, egg, sugar, flour, and butter into a pliable dough. Dust the work surface with flour and shape the dough into a roll about 2 cm in diameter. Cut off 2 cm pieces with a sharp knife. Bring the water to a boil. Add the vareniki to the boiling water, in batches if the surface area is too small. Let it simmer over low heat for 5-6 minutes. Remove the vareniki, drain well, and place in an ovenproof dish. Spread the crème fraîche on top and bake in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 5 minutes. Serve warm with sugar and cinnamon.
