Vegan scones

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 50 g margarine, vegan
  • 150 ml milk (plant milk), e.g. soy, oat, rice or almond milk
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

for approx. 20 pieces

Sift the flour into a bowl, mix in the salt and baking powder. Now add the margarine in small flakes and the milk. Mix everything together gently (important: do not knead too hard!). Once everything has combined into a moist dough, roll it out on a floured surface without applying pressure until about the thickness of a finger. Using a cup or jam jar, cut out round dough balls. Bake the scones on a baking sheet lined with baking paper in an oven preheated to 220°C (top and bottom heat) on the middle rack for about 15 minutes. The scones taste great on their own, but can also be eaten with jam, etc. They are usually served with tea. Tip: I have also made the scones with vanilla-flavored soy milk and then served them with strawberry jam.
