Vegetarian puff pastry snail

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 pc. puff pastry
  • 150 g mushrooms
  • 75g mozzarella
  • 75 g grated cheese, e.g. Gouda or mountain cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream or crème fraîche
  • Herbs
  • salt and pepper
  • possibly garlic clove(s)
  • 1 spring onion(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Finely chop the mushrooms, mozzarella, and spring onions. Chop the garlic if desired, then mix everything with the grated cheese, sour cream, herbs, salt, and pepper. Preheat oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Spread the filling on the thinly rolled puff pastry. Shape the puff pastry into a tight roll and then cut into about 8 slices. Place these on a baking sheet or in a baking dish and reshape them slightly if necessary. Bake the snails for about 15 minutes.
