Vita Cola Pur barbecue sauce

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 350 g ketchup
  • 375 ml cola
  • 60 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 60 ml Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 m.-sized onion(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Peel the onions and chop them into small pieces. Combine all ingredients in a pot and simmer for about 45 minutes, until the sauce thickens. Then pour into screw-top jars, close the lids, and briefly turn them upside down. The sauce is a bit spicy; if you prefer it less spicy, adjust the seasoning accordingly and use less chili powder. If you don’t like diced onions in your barbecue sauce, you can briefly puree them after cooking. The sauce will keep for several months, but the barbecue season is short.
