  • 5 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

great as a starter

Wash the arugula and figs and pat dry. Trim the tops of the figs and score each fig crosswise (2 or 4 times) at the cut end. Gently press down from the bottom and place in an ovenproof dish, cut-side up. If you choose Serrano ham, I recommend placing it between the figs and browning it. Arrange the uncooked ham on top of the arugula in a rose shape. Make a dressing from oil, lemon juice, clove powder, and honey, and drizzle it over the figs. A little more liquid might be advisable if you’re using a lot of lettuce. Place the dish in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 12-14 minutes. Place the warm figs on the arugula, place a ball of mozzarella in each fig star, sprinkle with toasted pine nuts, drizzle with the dressing, and finally garnish with a few slices of pecorino cheese.
