Warm potato salad according to Grandma Margarete

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1,500 g jacket potatoes
  • 500 ml water, boiling
  • 1 tsp flour
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 1 salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cube of stock
  • 6 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 onion(s), finely chopped
  • 100 g bacon, fried
  • Oil (some salad oil)

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Peel the boiled potatoes and slice them. For the marinade, combine the boiling water with the flour, sugar, salt, pepper, stock cube, vinegar, and diced onion. Mix the marinade with the potatoes. Just before serving, fry the bacon and add a little more salad oil, if desired. Fold in the bacon and fat while still hot. Serve the potato salad while still warm. I know this salad is high in calories, but it tastes great. My grandma used fatty bacon, but that seems too heavy to me.
