Water Ice With Alcohol: How To Refresh the Guests At Your Next Summer Party

You have to keep this in mind when drinking ice cream with alcohol

Water ice with alcohol not only tastes delicious, but is also refreshing and a great change from the usual cocktails. However, there are a few things to consider when preparing it.

  • Pure alcohol is not suitable for freezing, as it only freezes at a temperature of -114 degrees. The common freezers are only about -18 degrees cold.
  • The alcohol that you use for the water ice should therefore not have more than 40% vol, otherwise the ice cream will not freeze.
  • In general, the higher the alcohol content, the longer you have to wait for the ice cream to freeze.

Make water ice with alcohol yourself – Here’s how

There are countless recipes for popsicles with “boom”. For a simple basic recipe, you will need 30ml vodka, 120ml Sprite and 30ml of your favorite colored liqueur such as Strawberry Liqueur or Blue Curacao.

  1. First mix the vodka with the sprite.
  2. Now pour the mixture into a water ice pack. Be sure to leave some space between the mixture and the edge.
  3. Then add the liqueur to give the popsicles a great flavor and color.
  4. With the liqueur, you are of course free to choose the taste and color. For example, it looks great for barbecue parties if you can use several liquors and end up offering different colored popsicles.
  5. When everything is mixed, you should place the popsicles in the freezer overnight and let them freeze.
  6. Only take the popsicles out of the freezer just before eating, as they melt very quickly.

Delicious mojito water ice cream

A great alternative to the usual drinks are water ice cocktails. For a mojito you need 70 milliliters of water, 70 grams of sugar, 130 milliliters of lime juice, 25 milliliters of white rum, 50 milliliters of lemonade, 3 sprigs of mint and some mint for decoration.

  1. Put the water in a saucepan with the sugar and let it boil until it forms a syrup.
  2. Then add the mint and let your mixture cool. When the homemade syrup is cold, you can remove the mint.
  3. Now mix the syrup with the lime juice, rum and lemonade.
  4. Then pour everything into a popsicle mold and add mint leaves for decoration.
  5. The water ice should now be in the freezer for at least 6 hours, but preferably overnight.
