Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 2 onions
- 3 cloves garlic
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 gr. jar of water kefir crystals
- 1 pack of tomatoes, pureed, 500 ml each
- Spice(s) as desired
- 1 piece(s) butter

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Sauté the onions and garlic, add the water kefir crystals, and simmer briefly. Deglaze with the pureed tomatoes and season to taste. Finally, add a knob of butter. This is my first attempt at using up my leftover kefir crystals. I can’t bring myself to throw them away. The flavor of the sauce reminds me of tomato sauce deglazed with red wine.
