Weight Loss Doesn’t Work, Pounds Grow: 5 Reasons to Look Into Yourself and Correct Mistakes

Spring is approaching, and many women are thinking about the need to put their figures in order after the winter holidays. The process of losing weight is a long work on yourself and it has ups and downs, as well as plateaus. In this case, the question arises as to why weight does not go away with a calorie deficit. There are several interesting explanations for this.

Losing weight: the basic rules of weight loss

It is possible to eliminate everything that was eaten in the winter and during the cold season. To do this, you need to reduce the amount of food and calories, that is, the energy consumed with food, and then increase its expenditure. In other words, you need to eat less and move more. At the same time, you cannot starve, and you should not look towards mono diets. They will lead to a breakdown and eating everything in the refrigerator.

Even in the process of losing weight, you need a happy medium. The diet should be balanced, with a sufficient volume of fluids. The menu must contain proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals necessary for a person, as fats. You can and should exclude everything that gives excess fat – mayonnaise, fatty meat.

A healthy diet is a diet consisting of eggs, fish, meat, cereals, vegetables, and fruits in all their forms. You can and should eat potatoes and pasta made from durum wheat. Nuts, dried fruits, honey, and much more will be excellent substitutes for store-bought sweets. However, all this should be consumed no more than 1500-2000 calories per day, divided into 3-5 meals. In combination with physical activity, weight loss will bring positive results.

Why weight has stopped decreasing: causes and solutions

The situation described above is ideal, but what if the weight does not go away with a calorie deficit? To answer this question, you need to know about the possible causes. This phenomenon is called a plateau.

The first reason for the plateau may be the consumption and waste of the same amount of calories. That is, the answer to the question of why the last kilograms do not go away will be a decrease in calorie intake or an increase in exercise.

The second reason may be a decrease in metabolism. If everything and everywhere is good – work is good, children and a beloved spouse pamper you, festive dinners and a good mood, a sense of well-being can cause the body to refuse to let go of extra pounds.

The third reason why the weight has stopped decreasing is a proper daily routine and good sleep. It is the duration of rest that can cause a decrease in metabolism and stop weight loss. The body accumulates strength in fat, not through sleep and relaxation, compensating for the lack of the latter.

The fourth reason why weight starts to plateau is diet. If the main meal is in the evening, then the pounds will not go away. In this case, morning meals turn into a cup of coffee or tea, a sandwich. Even if you meet your daily calorie intake, the pounds will not melt away.

The fifth reason why weight does not decrease with a diet is due to diseases or pathologies. If the body has such problems, the weight will be difficult to lose. A common cause of extra pounds is not fatty foods, but problems with the thyroid and other organs and systems.
