What to Replace Coffee With: Five Foods that Energize

According to the doctor, bitter chocolate is also considered an excellent alternative to coffee. Nutritionist Kamilla Tymoshenko spoke about five foods that can give you an extra boost of energy, in addition to coffee.

According to the doctor on Instagram, first of all, you need to pay attention to foods such as meat, fish, eggs, milk, and yogurt.

“The energy received from them is consumed more slowly, they help maintain mental activity, and muscle function, and create a feeling of satiety for a long time. If you follow a vegetarian diet, it is recommended to include tofu and legumes in your diet,” Tymoshenko says.⠀

Secondly, the doctor recommends eating fruits that are rich in fast carbohydrates, which are compensated for by fiber. They help the body to “swing into action” faster and get involved in active work. One apple is equivalent to a cup of coffee.

In addition, Tymoshenko advises using nuts as a snack, which also creates a feeling of satiety, lower cholesterol, and contains biotin (a B vitamin that helps to get an extra portion of energy).

However, it is necessary to keep in mind the allergenicity and high-calorie content of nuts, and therefore it is recommended to consume no more than three to five walnuts, ten pieces of hazelnuts, almonds, and unsalted pistachios per day.

According to the doctor, bitter chocolate is also considered an excellent alternative to coffee, as cocoa tones up the body and helps focus attention, while caffeine and theobromine help to smoothly release energy without deteriorating health.

Tymoshenko also reminds us of the importance of maintaining water balance. One and a half to two liters of water a day helps to maintain energy throughout the day. The doctor emphasized that it is not necessary to drastically increase the amount of water consumed, as well as eat fatty or too salty foods.
