Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 500 g wheat flour, type 550 (baking strength)
- 10 g margarine, soft or butter
- 10 g salt
- 1 cube of yeast
- 300 ml water, lukewarm
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours

Place the flour in a mixing bowl and mix with the salt. Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm water with a fork and add to the flour mixture, then add the margarine or butter. Knead everything together with the dough hook for about 3 minutes, initially on a low speed and then on the highest speed, until you have a smooth dough. Preheat the oven to 50°C, turn off, and let the dough rise, covered with a tea towel, for 25-30 minutes, until it has visibly increased in size. Knead the dough again on a sheet of baking paper, form it into a log, and place it in a loaf pan (approx. 26 cm) with the baking paper on it. Let rise for another 40-45 minutes, until the dough has increased in size again. Preheat the oven to 225°C (top and bottom heat), 190°C (fan oven), gas mark 4-5. Bake the bread for about 40 minutes.
