Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 cl vodka, preferably Finnish
  • 2 cl liqueur (Kahlua)
  • 4 cl milk or cream

The original recipe actually looks like this: 2cl vodka, 2cl Kahlua, and 2cl cream, so 2:2:2, but this White Russian is very strong. Instead of cream, it’s good to use milk and dilute it with milk until you like the taste of the White Russian. I find the best result is 2:2:4 (with milk). Big Lebowski drinks it 4:2:3 (cream). You can mix the White Russian however you like, depending on your preference: more vodka, more coffee flavor (more Kahlua), or a bit creamier (more cream). You can shake the White Russian or just mix it well with a spoon; depending on the proportion of cream to milk, it will turn a light brown color. Another variation is to mix vodka and Kahlua and pour the cream over the back of a spoon to create a two-tone drink. A must for every Big Lebowski fan!
