Dumplings may well be present in the diet of only a healthy person, but you need to pay attention to their composition, says nutritionist Natalia Kruglova.
Dumplings are a fairly popular dish, although they are considered unsuitable for a healthy diet, and some people are not recommended to eat them at all. This was stated by the famous nutritionist Natalia Kruglova.
Dumplings may well be present in the diet of a healthy person, but you need to pay attention to their composition, she said.
“Commercially produced dumplings often use fatty meat, most often pork, or add fat to the minced meat. This is done to improve the taste of the product, but this way a person can get an excess of fat. Therefore, it is better to choose dumplings that contain lean meats, such as white poultry or beef. In addition, factories often add a lot of spices and salt to dumplings, which increases the product’s taste, and there is a risk that a person will overeat, eat more dumplings than they need,” Kruglova said.
