Whole-grain curd rolls with turmeric and onions

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 50 g onion(s), diced
  • 1 tbsp rapeseed oil
  • 1 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp turmeric
  • 250 g spelt flour (wholemeal)
  • 1 pack of cream of tartar baking powder
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • 250 g low-fat quark (low-fat curd cheese)
  • 3 tbsp low-fat yogurt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 tbsp herbs

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Heat the rapeseed oil with turmeric and pepper in a small saucepan. Briefly fry the diced onion, remove from heat, and let cool slightly. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl, then stir in the curd cheese, yogurt, egg, and onion. This will quickly form a smooth dough. With wet hands, form 8 equal-sized rolls. Brush with water. Bake on a baking sheet lined with baking paper at 200 degrees Celsius for approximately 25-35 minutes.
