Whole Wheat Buttermilk Bread

The perfect whole wheat buttermilk bread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Whole wheat flour
  • 250 ml Buttermilk
  • 0,5 cube Yeast fresh
  • 10 g Honey
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 150 g Seeds of your choice
  • 150 g Flaxseed crushed
  • Flaxseed whole
  • Peeled sesame seeds
  • Puffed amaranth
  • Chia seeds
  • Psyllium husks
  • Oatmeal
  • 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar
  1. Put the flour in a bowl and heat the buttermilk. Make a well in the flour, add warm buttermilk, crumble in the yeast, dissolve it well and spread some flour over it. Let rise until the dough bubbles!
  2. Then add salt, honey, seeds, oil and vinegar and knead everything well! Let rise for about 45 minutes!

Preheat oven to 220 degrees!

  1. Knead the dough again and shape it into a roll, for example. Roll again in oat flakes and / or seeds! Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Tip over some water and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, then switch down to 190 degrees and bake again for 45 minutes!
