Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 10 rolls, stale
- ¼ liter of milk
- 5 m.-sized eggs
- 1 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp wild garlic, chopped
- 2 m.-sized onion(s)
- Salt
- Pepper, white
- nutmeg
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes
Cut the rolls into approximately 1.5 cm cubes. Heat the milk and pour it over the rolls, mixing slightly to ensure the milk is evenly distributed. Add the eggs and stir in. Finely dice the onions and sauté them in the butter, lightly browning them, and add them to the dough. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Form the dough into 8-10 dumplings and let them rest for at least half an hour. Simmer in salted water for about 20 minutes. When the dumplings rise to the surface, they are cooked.
