Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 4 portions of pork knuckle(s) (2 shanks, halved, uncured)
- 2 large onions, roughly chopped
- salt and pepper
- 800 ml stock (gravy), instant mix or 800 ml vegetable stock, instant mix
- Mustard
- possibly sauce thickener if required
- possibly water if needed
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes
Wash the pork knuckles, then season with salt and pepper. Place them in a roasting pan along with the stock and roughly chopped onions. Cook uncovered in a preheated oven at 175°C (top/bottom heat) for approximately 3.5 hours. Baste the pork knuckles occasionally with the stock. If the stock has evaporated, add a little more water regularly. Once the cooking time is over, remove the pork knuckles and grill them briefly if necessary. Season the roasting stock to taste with mustard, salt, and pepper, and thicken with a sauce thickener if desired. Serve immediately.
