a recipe from the turn of the century

Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the center. Crumble the yeast into the well, pour over the milk, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 15 minutes. In the meantime, melt the butter, margarine, and lard in a saucepan and mix well. Now stir the fat mixture into the flour. Mix in the sugar, salt, and eggs. Resting time: 1 hour. Place on a greased baking tray and rest for another 15 minutes. Finally, top the dough as desired. Bake at 180°C (fan oven) for 15-20 minutes.
