Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 400 g flour (wheat flour)
- 100 g flour (wholemeal flour)
- 125 g butter, soft
- 90 g sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 1 pack of yeast
- 4 eggs
- 1 pinch of salt
- 250 ml mineral water
- Fat for the waffle iron
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes
First, combine the wheat and whole-wheat flour in a bowl. Then, slightly break up the butter, add it, and mix everything together. Gradually add the sugar, vanilla sugar, yeast, eggs, salt, and sparkling water. Mix everything thoroughly again and let the dough rise in the oven for half an hour at about 30-40°C (alternatively, the dough can also rise at room temperature for an hour). Then, mix the batter again and pour portions onto a greased waffle iron. Remove the waffles when they are the desired brown color. Delicious with cherries and whipped cream, or simply sprinkled with powdered sugar.
